Horticulture Class
Exciting News!!! We are starting back up our Horticulture Class. It’s been since 2019 that we have had activity in our greenhouse. Our current Horticulture class has been working like busy little bees to get all of the flowers and vegetable starts planted, so they will be ready for our first Spring Plant sale since the Covid 19 shutdown. The students in the class are currently learning about seed germination and how some seeds require different temperatures, methods and depths for proper germination.
The students have planted an array of colorful Petunia and Fuchsia for hanging baskets. They have a wide variety of other annual flowers such as geranium, begonia, sweet pea, cosmos, zinnia and more! They have also began to plant vegetable starts such as tomatoes, peppers (sweet and hot varieties), tomatillo, cucumber, many different squash varieties including pumpkins of all colors and so much more!! They will have an assortment of herbs too, such as oregano, cilantro, chives and thyme. Be on the lookout for updates on their progress as they work on filing the greenhouse with all kinds of healthy plants to add to your garden this spring and summer.
