The Lake Quinault School District had the privilege of welcoming Cosette Terry-Itewaste, a respected Quinault Indian Nation language teacher, who led Quinault language classes for our students yesterday.
The students were excited to engage in this unique learning opportunity, gaining insights into the Quinault language and culture. The interactive session allowed them to explore the rich heritage of the Quinault people, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the language.
Students expressed their enthusiasm for continuing to learn the Quinault language and look forward to future classes with Ms. Terry-Itewaste, as this valuable experience not only enriches their education but also strengthens the connection between the school and the Quinault community.
The district is committed to providing more opportunities for cultural and language education in the future, ensuring students can continue exploring and celebrating the diverse traditions that are part of our shared community.
