Nature Bridge

Nature BridgeWe are thrilled to announce that our school has been awarded two significant grants!

Outdoor Learning Grant
The first grant, in the amount of $37,000, will be used for outdoor education. This funding will support multiple exciting projects:

Nature Bridge Outdoor School:
In March, up to 37 high school students will attend a five-day outdoor school at the Nature Bridge campus on Lake Crescent. This program will focus on natural resources and environmental education. Be sure to check the April newsletter for highlights from this unforgettable experience!

Community Garden Initiative:
We are breaking ground on a school community garden at the south end of the football field. This outdoor classroom will provide students with opportunities to design, plant, grow, harvest, and enjoy fresh produce. The project encourages collaboration between:

Elementary STEM classes
High school horticulture classes
High school shop classes
High school CTE program
Community members

Campus Restoration:
As part of our second annual high school forestry class, students will work to remove invasive plants and plant native species across the school campus. This project will begin this spring and continue into the fall, fostering long-term environmental
stewardship.

 Ocean Guardian Grant
The second grant, an Ocean Guardian’s Grant, will provide up to $17,000 over five years to promote environmental stewardship.

This year, we are focusing on the 6 Rs:
Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot.

Key initiatives include:
Composting Program: Launching in February, this program will be implemented in the cafeteria to reduce waste.

Recycling Stations:
New recycling receptacles will be placed throughout the school to encourage sustainable practices.
